AI Robotics & Conservation Technology Camp Vancouver

Smart Robots Rescue Mission

Date: July 13 - July 17

A Sensor Coding and AI Engineering Camp Where Kids Design Systems to Protect Endangered Animals

+ Early Exposure to Coding and Robotics

+ Hands-On Learning

+ STEAM Education Enhancement

+ Real-World Problem Solving

  • Children choose their endangered species, learn about camera traps and drones used in real conservation, and create an empathy drawing identifying their animal's biggest threat.

  • Teams map out all threats to their species, study real conservation technology case studies, choose their solution track, and sketch their Guardian System design.

  • Children complete a sensor and AI crash course, then build their Guardian System and test its core function — simulating a real threat-to-alert response.

  • The system runs a full threat simulation test, bugs are fixed, test evidence is compiled, and children practice their pitch with an animal profile card.

  • Conservation Board Pitch Day — teams present their Guardian System to the class panel, deliver their final presentation, and celebrate with a Certificate Ceremony.

About the Activities

Endangered animals can't speak for themselves — but what if technology could listen for them?

In our AI robotics camp in Vancouver, children enter the world of conservation technology. They choose a real endangered species, map its biggest threats, and then design an AI-powered Guardian System — a smart robot capable of detecting and alerting rangers to those threats in real time.

This smart robot camp starts with empathy: children draw their animal, study its habitat, and identify what puts it at risk. Then they shift into engineering mode — learning how sensors work, how AI helps machines recognize patterns, and how to build and test a system that responds to a simulated threat. By Friday, teams pitch their Guardian System to a Conservation Board.

Children leave this sensor coding camp understanding something important: technology isn't just about what's cool. It's a tool for solving real problems — if you're willing to build it.
